The JvM Academy is <a href="https://www.jvm.com/">Jung von Matt’s</a> creative traineeship. The program lasts one year, takes place in Hamburg, Germany – and is held entirely in English. We have spots for 20 talents.
Here, you’ll learn how to develop unique ideas and tell exciting stories – and about all the technology you’ll need to do this in the future. 
You’ll write concepts and films, shoot TikToks, prompt the sh** out of Midjourney, build wireframes, make prototypes, and a lot more. And you’ll do all of that not under sterile lab conditions, but at real Jung von Matt agencies – in Hamburg, Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich, Vienna or Zurich.&nbsp;

As a Creative Concept Developer, you are a kind of "showrunner" in the advertising world.
You are the creative mastermind who oversees a project from start to finish, often serving as the intersection between all the different departments.
For this, you have a solid knowledge of media, brand management, copywriting &amp; design, project management, and technologies. However, your specialty is the craft of creative concepts: You are full of ideas, love storytelling, have strong research and strategy skills, share your passion for everything digital with techies and UX people, and you present in a way that sparks everyone's excitement. Being up to date on trends and innovations goes without saying!

We want the JvM Academy to be affordable for all our students. That’s why we balance out the monthly Academy fee of 800 Euros with a salary of 1,500 Euros before tax. AT the end of the month, you'll have around 350 euros left in your pocket! 
Scholarships
To further reduce the financial requirement, we offer full and partial scholarships to some students each year. We will discuss whether and how you can receive such a scholarship with you when we invite you to the live day. We make our decisions based on BAföG criteria.

What does a creative traineeship cost? 

The traineeship will last one year. You’ll spend four months at the Academy learning all there is to know about creation and concept design, based on examples from real customers. And you’ll have eight months working at one of our Jung von Matt agencies.
First things first: it will be really exhausting at times. But don't worry - after every successful idea presentation, you'll feel like you own the whole world. And you should definitely dance the night away with this feeling.

Every year, we take in a maximum of 20 Academy students.
Since three years, we also have international students on board. And we love it.
Some of our Academy students used to write school textbooks before coming to us. We’ve got media designers and bankers, journalists, tailors and pianists. Once, one of our students even dressed up as famous German author Günther Grass and did a reading from his new, made-up “bestseller” in a local pub.
The Academy is for anyone who enjoys creative work – whether you’ve already been to university, are still doing an apprenticeship, or simply want a new challenge.

The first twelve questions are designed to help us get to know you.
If your answers pique our interest, you’ll get through to the second round of the application process, where we’ll give you three creative tasks so you can show us what you can do.
If we like the way you handle those, we’ll invite you to the third round – to the live day at the Academy in Hamburg, Germany, so we can get to know each other in person.
All good so far? Then don’t miss the deadline for the first round! We’ll need to receive your response by 22 February 2026.

To make our website easier to use, we use functional cookies, in which we e.g. store your language settings. Using functional cookies represents a legitimate interest on our part. The legal basis of this is also Art. 6, Par. 1 lit. f GDPR.

<h3 id="3personaldata">3. Personal data</h3>
(1) If you use our website for information only, without registering or otherwise providing us with information, then we will only collect the personal data which your browser sends to our server. If you wish to view our website, we will collect the following information, which is technically necessary to display our website to you and to ensure it remains stable and secure (the legal basis is Art. 6 Par. 1 cl. 1 lit. f GDPR):

Logfile information is kept for a maximum of seven days for security reasons (such as the investigation of misuse and fraudulent activities), then it is deleted. Any data which needs to be kept for evidence purposes will not be deleted until the particular case has been resolved fully. The legal basis is Art. 6 Par. 1, lit. f GDPR.
(2) Personal data is only collected by us if and to the extent that you provide it to us on your own account, such as when making contact or submitting an application. We will handle this data confidentially and only use it for the original purpose for which it was sent, which is usually for processing and handling your enquiry. Your data is not usually given to third parties, unless we are obliged or legally allowed to, or if you have given us your consent, or if we have been ordered to do so by the authorities. If your enquiry relates to one of our group companies, then we will of course forward it to that company. If you contact us by e-mail, then your e-mail will be stored in our mail system. We may store your enquiry and the data associated with it in our CRM system. The e-mails themselves are not stored with their content encrypted. Our contact form is transport-encrypted using SSL/TLS, which you can recognize by the ‘https’ before the URL. Our mail server also uses conventional transport encryption protocols. The legal basis of this is Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. b GDPR.
<h2 id="4dataprotectionforapplications">4. Data protection for applications</h2>
(1) In the event of an application, we process the data you provide us with voluntarily for the purpose of performing and handling the application process. The only people to receive the data are those involved in the application process in the human resources department, who may forward your application to other group companies if you have applied to them or if we believe that your application may be of interest to one of our group companies. The legal basis of this is Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. b GDPR.
(2) If we turn down your application, then we will not store your data for more than six months after the end of the application process. This storage period relates to the assertion of claims under the AGG (German Equal Treatment Act) and our associated legitimate interest in defending ourselves against such claims. The legal basis of this is Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. f GDPR.
(3) If you give your consent to be included in our applicant pool, then we can agree on a different period with you. You may revoke this consent at any time with future effect. The legal basis for that is Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. a GDPR.
<h2 id="5hostinganddistribution">5. Hosting and distribution</h2>
(1) We use the service provider Netlify, Inc., 2325 3rd Street, Suite 215, San Francisco, 94107 CA, USA, (“NF”) to host and distribute our website content. They process our data on our behalf. Our website is therefore hosted outside the EU. Standard EU contractual clauses have been entered into in order to protect the transfer of data.
(2) We use AWS based on our legitimate interest in the secure and efficient provision of services and the optimisation of our online content pursuant to article 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with articles 28 and 46(2)(c) GDPR.
<h2 id="6socialmediaprofiles">6. Social media profiles</h2>
(1) We operate on social networks and platforms to be able to connect with users who visit these frequently. As such, it is possible that user data is processed outside the European Union, which may lead to risks for users (e.g. making it more difficult for them to enforce any claims they may have). In addition, with regard to providers from the USA, they have undertaken to comply with European data protection standards as long as they are Privacy Shield certified.
(2) Social media networks frequently use your usage data for market research and advertising purposes. This means, for example, that the content you viewed is saved in a profile in order to determine what your interests are and to advertise to you on this basis on both the networks themselves as well as on third-party websites. This is effected through the use of cookies that the network saves on your computer. If you have a profile on the network yourself, your interests may also be directly assigned to your personal profile.
(3) The current legal basis is article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in effective communication with users interested in us. If you have granted a network consent, e.g. as part of registration, the legal basis is article 6(1)(a) and article 7 GDPR. For more in-depth information about how your data is processed and your ability to opt-out, please see the network information websites linked below. If you have any requests for information or would like to assert your rights, the most logical approach is to contact the networks themselves directly, as only they have access to your data:

<h2 id="7yourrights">7. Your rights</h2>
(1)You have the right to find out whether we are processing your personal data at any time, according to Art. 15 GDPR. If we are, then we have other additional information duties as a result.
(2)You also have the right to have your data corrected pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR, deleted according to Art. 17 GDPR and for its processing to be limited pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR, provided no other legal regulations say otherwise.
(3)Of course, you can at any time revoke your consent to have your data processed according to Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. a or Art. 9, Par. 2 lit. a GDPR without providing reasons. This does not affect the legality of processing done up to that point.
(4)You also have the right to data portability according to Art. 20 GDPR.
(5)You also have, pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR, the right to object to the processing of your data, in particular processing on the basis of Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. e or f GDPR. Should you wish to exercise that right, please tell us the reason why you do not want us to keep processing your personal data the way we are. If your objection is justified, we will assess the case and either stop processing your data, amend the way we do it, or inform you of the compelling reasons we have for continuing to process it, these reasons being deemed worthy of protection.
